Today is National Trail Mix Day! Trail mix is an awesome snack to boost your energy. It keeps you filling full and helps you make it through the day. It is full of protein and good fats from nuts, as well as vitamins, minerals and fiber from cereal and dried fruit. With a little bit of chocolate for sweetness, trail mix makes a delicious, healthy treat that will have you up and going all day! Check out these tips and our easy, single-size trail mix recipe you can make to celebrate today!

  • 4 tbsp Rice Chex Mix
  • 1 tbsp Peanuts
  • ½ tbsp Raisins
  • ½ tbsp Craisins
  • ½ tbsp Chocolate Chips

Other ingredients you can use to make trail mix include:

  • Cheerios
  • cinnamon chex
  • corn flakes
  • granola
  • mini pretzels
  • mini chocolate chips
  • peanut butter chips
  • Air-popped popcorn

Just remember to eat a small portion of trail mix when you’re snacking—trail mix is packed with nutrients, so a little bit goes a long way. Also try not to load up on the sweets in your mix, keep it healthy with more nuts, dried fruit and cereal.
