Power Through Resistance! Easy, fun, and convenient + free
Resistance bands are stretchy, elastic bands you pull against to strengthen certain muscles. Physical activity with resistance bands is easy, fun, and convenient. Your level of fitness does NOT matter. Anyone can benefit. Even better, you can do it anywhere. No need for a pile of weights or a gym membership. With a little technique, this stretchy band will both tone and get your heart rate up. It will also improve balance and prevent osteoporosis. To help you get started, ONIE and Ralph Ellison Library are hosting free classes. While supplies last, everyone who attends receives a resistance band, a $10.00 value. With a free resistance band and little technique, you are all set. Grab a friend or family member and join us on Tuesdays.
When: Tuesdays, October 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29. Time: 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Where: Ralph Ellison Library, 2000 NE 23rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73111 Who: Women over 18 years of age. No previous experience required. * Childcare is not provided.
PRACTICE AT HOME
Stephanie DeBerry, ONIE exercise physiologists, Rita Freeney, Patricia Robinson, and Meredith Scott have developed a 30 minute total body workout so you can practice at home. Once you get the technique down, you can do your exercise routine while watching your favorite TV show.
