WHERE YOU CAN SPEND YOUR SNAP $$

 #1. Save $$$

Seasonal and locally grown produce cost less in the long run. It is less expensive, because it is in season. It also last longer, because it is picked the night before the market.

You can pick how many or how much produce to purchase. No need to buy more than you want.

#3. Taste the difference

You can taste and see the difference. Fresh produce just tastes better when it is picked ripe. Fruits and vegetables in supermarkets ripen while being shipped across the country. Need proof? Try a fresh peach from a farmers market.

#4.  It is a family activity Local farmer's market

Farmers markets are fun for the whole family. Many have activities just for the kiddos like free train rides, petting zoos, and face painting. It is also fun to involve your kids by letting them pick out their own fruit or vegetable to try. Have questions?  Not a problem, farmers love to talk and are happy to help you pick the best produce and even have tips on how to prepare it.

#5. Lots of variety

There are many Oklahoma grown fresh vegetables and fruits that are in season right now. I am certain you will find one of your favorites.
