Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken Sliders

This slow cooker recipe is perfect for picnics, parties, and other celebrations.


  • 1 (15 oz) can no-salt-added tomato sauce

  • 1 (6 oz) can no-salt-added tomato paste 

  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

  • 3 Tbsp honey

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 tsp chipotle pepper powder

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 12 whole-wheat dinner rolls

  • 1 (16 oz) bag tri-color coleslaw mix


  1. In a large slow cooker add, tomato sauce, tomato paste, worcestershire sauce, vinegar, honey, garlic, chipotle pepper & black pepper. Stir until combined. Add chicken breasts & cover with sauce. Cover & cook on low 6-7 hours or until chicken is cooked through.

  2. Using two forks, finely shred chicken.

  3. Serve rolls filled with chicken, coleslaw mix & extra sauce.


Increase temperature to high to reduce cook time to 2-3 hours.
